Great Local Hikes

Hanging Lake Trail

Glenwood Springs' Hanging Lake Trail is a very popular moderate hike for people of all ages. Noted for its steep portions, the trail winds along Dead Horse Creek and through the rocky Glenwood Canyon in the White River National Forest.

The trailhead is located off of I-70 with parking on the Colorado River. The hike typically takes less than 4 hours and best for hiking spring through fall.

Doc Holiday Grave Trail

This short hike is located very near downtown and great for families, people with pets and history buffs alike.

Come see the resting place of the famed old west gunfighter (and dentist) Doc Holliday while breaking a small sweat. This hike is accessible year round and a must-do next time you're in the Glenwood Springs area.
